The surgeon asks if this is the anesthesiologist's "subtle" way of hinting the surgeon was "a bit messy" last time. Between blood sprays and other fluids it could get messy.

Three Ends?

Three Ends?

I wrote this at 2am on call when a surgeon said this in surprise. You have to understand that if you cut one loop of bowel, you have two ends. If you cut two loops, you have four ends. But three ends?
